- I graduated in 1997 from Barry Goldwater High School. I attended Arizona State University Barret Honors College on a nearly full-ride scholarship, attaining concurrent degrees in English and History. I completed a graduate degree from ASU in Curriculum Design & Instruction. I have taught at MHS for 8 years, and I have also taught political science, education, and English classes for CAC. I am currently an AP Reader for the College Board.

Whip is a role in party-based politics whose primary purpose is to ensure control of the formal decision-making process in a parliamentary legislature. Whips are party 'enforcers', who typically offer both inducements and punishments to party members.

as for the congressional leaders i tihnk i found them, but i dont want to seem like an idiot and not be totally correct, so ill post at a later time.

I agree with the latter comments.
There are six House Democrats, including Speaker Nancy Pelosi of California and Representative Steny Hoyer of Maryland, the majority leader; and six House Republicans, including Representative John A. Boehner of Ohio, the minority leader and Representative Eric Cantor of Virginia, the whip.
On the Senate side, there are five leading Democrats, including Senator Harry Reid of Nevada, the majority leader, and Senator Richard J. Durbin of Illinois. On the Republican side, five senators also are invited, including: Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, the minority leader, along with Lamar Alexander of Tennessee, Jon Kyl of Arizona, John Thune of South Dakota and John Cornyn of Texas.
